Annie and Canny at Heritage Station Hotel

During one of our site scouting trips, we’ve landed in Kuala Lumpur Railway Station (Stesen Keretapi Kuala Lumpur) and Heritage Station Hotel.

Those shadows on the face intentional or incidental?
Or were you just playing with you lens’ bokeh-ness…

I think a bit of fill-flash could have made the picture great. Your left model had an extra-ordinary facial expression that made her look like a face from a Taiwanese CD album cover. Looked like a fresh young starlet with songs targeted at emo teenagers probably. It was the best facial expression you’ve captured in the series you’ve shown so far.

But that shadow from the nose made her look like she has half the moustache of Yosemite Sam…

my bad for the lack of fill-flash on those two shots. it was also an oversight for not bringing along any reflector to lessen those hard shadow.

thanks for the comments on the fresh, young and upcoming model starlet she’ll be pretty happy if you say that to her.

just saying… that was the kind of facial expression that CD album cover photographers tend to shoot, to try to get the ‘artist’ to look broody and philosophical-like, and emotionally deeper than her song lyrics would otherwise suggest…

your model gave you that one split second glimpse into her soul, and you went and painted a moustache on her face.
